holly j haroz is an Atlanta-based artist and photographer working primarily through self-portraiture. Her work explores perception, concealment, distortion, and the shifting relationship between observer and subject. Using mirrors, fabric, movement, water, glass, and optical interventions, she creates images that question whether closer observation reveals truth — or complicates it further.
Rooted in daily practice and experimentation, her work moves between vulnerability and refusal, intimacy and distance, clarity and fragmentation. Influenced by visual anthropology, phenomenology, and the psychology of seeing, her images function less as documentation and more as encounters with instability, presence, and self-construction.
She received her MFA in Photography from SCAD Atlanta.
