Holly Schumacher started taking photos when she was a child. When she played dress up in her mom's old clothes she gave her to play in she would steal her parents camera and take photos of her friends. When Holly's dad bought her first camera at the age of 16, she enrolled in photo class at high school. Soon after she began winning top awards in Georgia High School Photography competitions and continued her stride into college winning awards in every art show she entered and landed the cover of Georgia Southern's Miscellany Magazine for the Art's her senior year and put on her very first solo photography show 'That which has passed'.
Since college her portfolio now consists of over 200 self portraits and has stated "my self -portraits allow me to experiment with new techniques in photoshop, make asignature mark in Atlanta's photography scene, provide a self-study of my own psyche, notate and document the present, and most importantly offers me a way to release all forms of emotions. I am force to study my owns persona's and allow my audience a voyeuristic view into my life and mind."
Holly's favorite people she has photographed are Vanessa Olivarez finalist of American Idol Season 2, The Regular Guys of Rock 100 and her friends who continue to put up with her dressing them up and taking photos of them.
